2008: ten topspots from the Netherlands

The last few years there have actually been too many spots from the Netherlands on Autogespot, just because most of the spotters live in the Netherlands. Our database consists of approximately 90,000 spots, one third of these are from The Netherlands. We’ve tried to list the ten most outstanding spots from previous years, all spotted in the Netherlands.

You won't see any well known supercars in the list below. This is because these are spotted on quite a regular basis. Think of the Bugatti Veyron which has been spotted fourteen times, or the Porsche Carrera GT, which cannot be counted on one hand. No, we are talking about cars that have been spotted less then five times and are all very exclusive. Think of the Bentley Brooklands which will be limited with only 500 being produced. An Ascari also belongs to this list. It is almost impossible to choose ten spots out of thousands, make that ten thousands of spots from the last year. With each spot there will be an explanation of why these belong in the top ten best spots from Holland!

Aston Martin DB7 Zagato

This Aston Martin has been produced a few years ago in a limited amount. This car is very exclusive. Only 99 DB7 Zagato’s were built, one of these was spotted last year in Holland. Even though this car is spotted once in a while it will remain a dream for many of us to spot. A Zagato is, and will always be, a topspot.

Ascari KZ1

This Ascari is owned by Klaas Zwart, owner of the Ascari Raceresort. Last year he was seen in the Netherlands with his bizarre vehicle. You will only receive a KZ1 if you become a member of Klaas Zwart's trendy carclub. This membership will cost you millions, but it does get you a KZ1. The Ascari KZ1 will always be a true supercar and a unique appearance on Autogespot.

Bentley Brooklands 2008

The Bentley Brooklands has been spotted a few times last year. It will cost you 500,000 euros to own one of these Bentley’s. For this amount of money you will receive an extremely exclusive car which has been completely built according to your specifications. Only 500 will be built and all of them have already been sold out.

Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Competizione Conversion

A real classic that definitely belongs in the 2008 Dutch topspots. This Competizione can be seen as the precedent of the Scuderia and the Challenge Stradale. This car has definitely been designed for the track. There have been fifteen Competiziones produced and six have been officially rebuilt. The fact that one was spotted in 2008 is unique.

Ferrari F50

Not an Enzo but a F50 belongs to this selection of topspots. Together with the 288 GTO, the F50 is by far the most rare of the top of the line Ferrari's. If five of these are spotted in one year it would be amazing. The Enzo and F40 are driven a lot more often then the F50. Just look at the statistics, more then 100 Enzos, approximately 70 F40s, and just 32 F50s can be found on Autogespot!

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

It is still unknown if there is a Gallardo Superleggera in the Netherlands. There have only been 622 Gallardo Superleggeras built, that's a lot less than anyone expected. This influences the exclusivity of this car, because the Gallardo itself is not really that exclusive.

Mazda Furai

Mazda's concept car, the Furai, also belongs to this selection. The Furai resembles the last 40 years that Mazda has been working on the rotation engine. The designers have focused on the wind, the shape and form of the wind. This concept car fits right in between a streetcar and a racecar. You can find characteristics of both in this car. We probably wont see this car driving around in five years from now, but Mazda does show us what we can expect in the next few years.

Porsche Gemballa Avalanche GTR 800 EVO-R

The only tuned car in this list of Dutch topspots. When this car was first spotted we had a discussion about how much bhp this car has, since it didn't say that on the car itself. We later found out that it has 800 bhp. It is, without you realizing it, one of the most powerful cars that we have ever seen in the Netherlands. The exterior of this car can not go unnoticed. This Gemballa Avalanche GTR 800 EVO-R, just listen to that name, has sure earned its place on this list

Rolls Royce Phantom Coupé

Just like the Brooklands, this Phantom Coupe is the ultimate statement for the ultra rich. It fits perfectly next to a Phantom or a Drophead Coupe. You do need a big garage because the dimensions of this ride are huge. There is only one Phantom Coupé in all of Holland. The owner of this car has payed 600,000 euros, excluding the amazing extra options. This huge vehicle belongs to the top of the line, which means that it also belongs to the topspots of Holland.

Wiesmann GT MF5

The GT MF5 is the most recent creation from the exclusive car manufacturer, Wiesmann. This lightweight car places itself on the top of Wiesmann's pricelist. You have the Roadster, the GT, and the amazing MF5 which is powered by a V10. The car weighs less then 1,400 kg and the engine, BMW's V10, has 507 horses. The performance makes it worthy to be counted as a supercar! The top speed is 310 km/h and the acceleration to 100km/h takes only 3.7 seconds. Last year this car was added twice to Autogespot. In total we have seen three of these unique cars on Autogespot.

This is a small list of the many topspots that Holland could see this past year. Keep checking the frontpage because we will be sorting through the topspots of other countries! Countries like Germany and Great Britain will definately get their turn!
