Spotted: Red Maybach 57 S

Spotter jersay69 had a nice afternoon in the Swiss Genève! The mondain city on the world famous lake becomes really busy each year due to the Arabians that seemingly visit Europe for business. In the center of Genève someone had parked their bright red Maybach 57S which looked a lot like it could have an Arabian owner. Nothing is more true. This luxurious limousine is registered in Heilbronn, Germany.

The 57 S is a faster and more sporty version of the Maybach 57. A lot of clients wanted more power after the introduction of the 57. 550 bhp from Mercedes' biturbo V12 was seemingly not enough for them to travel from A to B with speed and style. That's quite strange because this amount of power in a car of this size should be more than enough. The 57 S was introduced at the Geneve Autoshow with this same biturbo V12. This V12 was modified by AMG and is the same engine as in the CL 65 AMG. This engine produces 612 bhp in the Maybach 57 S. That's not just Schnell but also Spezial, the reason for the S in 57 S.
The 57 S doesn't only differ from the 57 under the hood. The exterior was also modified so that the car would look a little sportier. The Chassis and shocks have also been modified to keep this extra power on the road. Another thing that was changed are the pancake-shaped mufflers on the back of the car, extremely flat and wide. You will find these same mufflers on the 62 S. Other than this the grill has been replaced with a bit sportier version and the rims had to make way for twenty inch metal.

As far as we know there have been seven of these registered in The Netherlands. The stock 57 has been registered 10 times.
