Back to 1967 with the RUF Rt Roadster

Porsches 'Sicherheitscabriolet' was quickly renamed to Targa in the vernacular. Back in 1967, Porsche introdruced the first 911 Targa, it was a direct hit. Nowadays the Targa disappeared from the model range, you have to go to RUF for a modern Targa. In Beverly Hills the first copy of this exclusive roadster was spotted.

RUF had only one goal with this model, bringing back the historical looks of the 1967 Targa to the street scene. The idea of the Targa was a integrated rollbar for the safety of a coupe, with the sensation of a convertible. At the Rt Roadster, the roof is removable by hand, the back window functions as normal convertible. The looks are sensational and trendy, something you do expect a 330.000 euro car to be. Further, the Rt Roadster has the standard RUF-bodykit.

The model is offered in two specs, a 400 bhp strong six cylinder, or as a Turbo which is 560 bhp strong. Customers can also choose between a manual or an automatic gearbox. We are sure there are some customers which order their Rt Roadster with the 700 bhp strong RT12-engine. RUF just loves to make unique cars. For instance, RUF built an RT12 with the bodykit of the normal 997 Turbo Cabriolet, but only with a GT2-front bumper. Another example is the RT12R with RT12S bodykit, spotted in Amsterdam lately.
