Some supercar brands are closely associated with a particular color. For instance, Ferraris are famously red, while Bugattis are predominantly blue, with around 80% of all Bugattis featuring this color in some form. However, when it comes to rarer hues, Bugatti's offerings stand out even more.
Recently, a rare Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 55 1 of 1 was spotted at Casino Square in Monaco, showcasing an exceptional color scheme of black and yellow. This is only the ninth yellow Chiron ever produced. While there are a few yellow EB110s, Veyrons, and just one yellow Divo, the Chiron Super Sport 55 1 of 1 is a truly unique edition. It was created as a bespoke tribute by Jascha Straub, the chief designer of Sur Mesure at Bugatti, and reflects the legacy of the legendary Bugatti Type 55 from the 1930s.
The Chiron Super Sport 55 1 of 1, originally commissioned for a customer from Dubai, was designed to honor Jean Bugatti. It features a distinctive black and yellow color scheme, a nod to Ettore Bugatti's original choice, which breaks up the car's large surfaces visually. Notable design elements include a black centerline on the hood, a black line accentuating the grille, and a yellow stripe running over the rear and through the black area up to the fenders. The air intakes around the W16 engine are painted yellow, and a fading 55 pattern on the headlights and fenders echoes the historic Type 55 roadster. The car is further distinguished by its 10-spoke wheels with a yellow EB emblem and a cursive "55 1 of 1" inscription on the underside of the rear wing.
Inside, the tribute to the Type 55 continues with a black leather interior, featuring "55 1 of 1" embroidered on the headrests. The door panels are hand-stitched with the 55 motif, and the door sills proudly bear Jean Bugatti's signature. This unique Chiron Super Sport not only stands out for its rare color but also for its meticulous homage to Bugatti's rich heritage.
