Horsepower fanatics will be very happy with the AMG-part of the Mercedes-Benz stand. Next to the SLS AMG Black Series, you can also admire the A 45 AMG and the renewed E 63 AMG and E 63 AMG S on the exhibition. For the first time, the E-Class AMG is available with the optional 4-MATIC system, but why?

AMG finally understood that when they want to bring the performance of a car to a higher level, they needed four wheel drive. We now have the following situation. Standard, the E 63 AMG with rear wheel drive will get 557 hp and the 4-MATIC is an extra option. The E 63 AMG S is different, this car has standard 4-MATIC and a 585 hp strong V8. This makes this E-Class the fastest powersedan at this moment. The sedan can sprint to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds. The Audi RS7 Sportback needs 3.9 seconds and the BMW M5 F10 needs even 4.4 seconds. The E-Class is the new king of sprints. But you do need to put the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven speed sports transmission in the right mode. You have four different modes, C (Controlled Efficience), S (Sport), S+ (Sport Plus) and M (Manual). Sport and Sport Plus are the fastest modes and in Sport Plus, the valves of the exhaust are completely opened and the undercarriage is even more sporty.

Spotters can recognize the facelifted E 63 AMG W212 series on its complete new front. The front bumper is more round and more elegant. AMG has developed new fenders and placed a bigger diffuser. Standard, the E AMG has 18 inch wheels but the S version is equipped with 19 inch wheels. Different AMG logos and carbon fiber components will show everyone that this isn’t just a normal E-Class!
