The Mistral becomes even more refined

When we see pictures of the Mistral test car, it looks a bit shabby. The reason for this is not that Bugatti has run out of money and now has to cut back on quality, but rather, there is a simple reason why it looks like this. Read on to find out:

When a hypercar is tested, it has to undergo many more tests than a regular car. The car must, of course, be perfect. And for a caliber like the Mistral, this is especially true. Therefore, sensors have to be attached all over the car to monitor every detail. Sometimes, sensors need to be installed beneath the surface, or special car parts need to be mounted. As a result, the gaps might not be perfect anymore. In the pictures, we also see that all the grilles at the front don't look very elegant. This also has a good reason. A finished Bugatti grille is extremely expensive. During test drives, an enormous number of kilometers are covered. There's always a chance that something could get damaged. To prevent this, simple and cheap grilles are installed. Additionally, the Mistral's roof looks a bit shabby. The reason for this is that the Mistral actually doesn't have a roof, and this is just an emergency fabric roof to keep the test drivers and engineers from getting soaked. You can also see cables for measuring and monitoring in the engine area at the rear and around the taillights. All in all, it really does look quite shabby.
