McLaren P1 is doing some testing laps on Spa-Francorchamps

Last week McLaren visited the track of Spa-Francorchamps to test their sporty McLaren P1 GTR. We received some photos from McLaren's beast.

The 1.000 hp strong monster will be ready for customers later this year. The front axle is widened with 80 millimeters compared with the standard P1 and the car is also 50 millimeters lower than the standard version. Pirelli will fit the car with a set of slicks. The front windshield is still the same but the windows on the side are replaced by polycarbonate versions. Thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber the weight of the car is reduced with 50 kilograms. At the back we see an enormous spoiler which creates an extra 10 percent downforce. Converted this means up to 660 kilograms of downforce at a speed of 200 kph. The wing isn't solid but can be adjusted with the Drag Reduction System. The wing can be adjusted from 32 to zero degrees for an optimized air flow. With the Pure McLaren trackdays you will have a big chance to see the P1 GTR on Spa-Francorchamps but also on the Nürburgring.
