Spotter Picou² was overwhelmed with amazement when he encountered the McLaren Speedtail in Tokyo, Japan. He had admired many beautiful sights during his two-week vacation in Japan, but the sight of the stunning white Speedtail caught him completely off guard. As he looked down from the Southern Observatory on the 45th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the Speedtail's striking bodywork immediately caught his eye, almost too incredible to believe at first.
After a quick tour of the Observatory, Picou² hurried back to the elevator and down to the hotel, hoping that the Speedtail would still be there - and luck was on his side, as it was. Armed with his camera, he savored every moment capturing the car's beauty, which was easily accessible and drew the attention of everyone leaving the hotel.
This is the first Speedtail we've seen on our site from Japan, making it a rare find. Spotting a Speedtail is no easy feat - this year alone, we've only seen three sightings. However, last year was quite a bit more active, with 15 sightings from seven different Speedtails. In 2022, we seen five unique Speedtails, while in 2021, there were eight sightings from four distinct cars. In 2020, we saw five sightings from three different Speedtails, and in 2019, we've seen two different ones. Have you ever had the chance to see a Speedtail in the wild?
