The great Carrera GT ban comes to an end

More than a year ago, Porsche sent a message to all Carrera GT drivers, strongly advising them to stop driving their Carrera GTs. There were several issues that needed to be urgently fixed. Now, that has come to an end.

We reported a few months ago about a Carrera GT that was a test vehicle. This is quite unusual for a car of this age, as there are typically only new test vehicles. However, over a year ago, defects were discovered in the Carrera GT that could no longer guarantee the drivers' safety. As a result, a recommendation was issued to stop driving the Carrera GT. The reason was a weakness in the axle. After several hours of engineering and testing, the original axle was replaced with a new one, and the CGT received a different standard tire. Drivers can now take their Carrera GT to the workshop of their choice, and the parts will be replaced free of charge.
