The Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrated it’s 40th anniversary this year. America’s longest running major “street” race attracts over 200,000 race fans to the second-busiest port in the U.S. over the course of the three-day race weekend. The first ever race at Long Beach was in 1975 with a Formula 5000 race. And the next year, Formula One came to the streets of Long Beach. Legendary names like Andretti, Villeneuve, and Unser have all won here. Mario Andretti won here four times. Al Unser Jr. won here a record-six times. Both former champions were on hand for the special anniversary weekend.
